2008 Flintknapping Workshops
Individual classses with Craig are available upon request at our shop for the following prices: Full day.......$300.00 Each additional person is $150.00 Half day.......$150.00 By the hour....$45.00
Dates: June 23 - 27 Class goal: To provide individual instruction to students at any level from beginner to advanced. Over the five days, students will learn techniques in: quarrying, spalling of large and small materials, percussion--(preforming, thinning), working rock slabs, pressure flaking, and notching. Cost: $450 for five days of instruction and all meals. Location: We will be camping at Glass Buttes in Central Oregon. The camping conditions are primitive. There are no facilities other than portable toilets and solar showers. There will be large water tanks, kept filled from a nearby well. Dates: June 21-22 Steve Allely Co-auther of Bowyer's Bible Series. Well known Northwest Flintknapper of beautiful gem points. Will be demonstrating making points of high art that would be used on art or hunting arrows. A wealth of knowledge of Indian bows and arrows and hunting with such. Cost: $200 for 2 days of instruction and all meals. Location: We will be camping at Glass Buttes in Central Oregon. The camping conditions are primitive. There are no facilities other than portable toilets and solar showers. There will be large water tanks, kept filled from a nearby well. Deposit: To reserve your spot in a workshop, please send a $100.00 deposit, with your name, address, and phone number. | This class will take place at the Wilderness Way school in Owego, NY following the Genesee Valley Stone Tool show and is limited to 12 students. During the two days Craig will teach the fundamentals of flintknapping as well as provide one on one guidance to help each student progress to the next level. Tools and materials will be provided, although you may bring your own if desired. The class will be from 9am to 5pm both days. Cost is $125 per student to be payed at least 30 days before the date of the class.
